Summary: Upon arrival, they allowed us to check in early which was very nice as we were exhausted. We were shown to our room which was spacious and had its own bathroom. After a couple hours nap, we walked around the house to check out the property which was unkept. I don’t know if they maintain it better in the summer, but going at the end of the “off season” it was looking a little rough. Come bed time, it was very cold in our room. There were radiant heaters but they didn’t work. My husband is usually very warm and he was even shivering when he had to get out of the bed. They definitely had a fire going in the main part of the house as it smelled smokey when we went to check out. Also, at around 10:30pm whomever lives next to the room we were in, turned a TV on with the volume quite high. This kept us up until about 2:15am when it was finally shut off.
So overall, some good, some not so good. We won’t be back.

Summary: A lovely country home, with some rooms that have a lake view from the balcony -gorgeous, with a very relaxed vibe! We used the pool immediately upon our arrival which was refreshing after traveling, and it had a view of the lake, as well as the chickens and goat on the farmette. Room: The mattress was firm, yet very comfortable! The tiny European-style shower is an authentic Italian experience (😉), but our spacious bathroom had gorgeous tile to be admired. The most important amenities were included in our stay, and some extras are available upon request (tiny refrigerator). A set of water glasses, wine glasses, and a coffee machine in the room would have made it perfect because we didn’t take advantage of the breakfast available for 5.50 euros. We drove into Bracciano daily for our morning coffee. We loved the remoteness of the place, but found it necessary to go in to Bracciano for any/all activities. It was a very short drive to the lake and quite convenient (if you’re comfortable driving on a very narrow one-lane road.) Know before booking: As stated when booking, there is limited availability of assistance from staff if you need something at an odd hour, so know that beforehand and bring the comforts that you require. Our check-in and out went smoothly, and the hosts were fair about upcharges for things like air conditioning etc. The free WiFi is spotty at best, so do not count on it working consistently, and instead, enjoy disconnecting and relaxing!

Summary: We stayed at La Gismonda for one night (two adults, one baby) and were very sorry to not be able to stay longer. It has the most beautiful location and a wonderful staff who accommodated us in a lovely and personal way. We also ate at the hotel and being the only guests in the restaurant it was like having your own private chef! Yes, we recommend it and will definitely be coming back. :)

Summary: We choose the hotel because it was close to the area we wanted to visit and thanks to the Expedia reviewers. I have to say that the previous reviewers did a good job. The country house is not far away from the small town of Bracciano, but it's surrounded by trees and the best characteristics are the view of the lake and the silence. Domestic animals live in the area and there is a lot of space around the main house. The road to the house is a little bit tricky, but with the GPS is not a big deal. Parking is not a problem. The house is on the top of the hill, and the bedrooms have large window doors, so when you wake up in the morning the view is simply gorgeus. The hotel staff offer a good breakfast, with home made jam and marmalade, and the special nuts cream very tasty. During the night no noise at all, so it was a great escape from the crowded city. We took our bicycles and we rode around the country side, so we had a very good experience.
