Summary: Let me start by saying we had a fantastic stay in Brunate. My bf and I stayed here for a “workcation” for one month in June and enjoyed exploring the area. Our hosts, Paola and Fabio, were friendly, welcoming and very helpful in getting everything we needed for our stay. They had a second desk and monitor that we used for work and the workspaces were a great allure for us. The apartment had pretty much everything we needed and we often cooked at home. It had all the essential spices, pots and pans, and utensils. There were a few hot days while we were there and while there was no air conditioning in the apartment, our host kindly provided us with some fans. The photos of the balcony don’t do it justice as the path below is a well traveled route to the funicular and often has plenty of people to watch walk by. This was one of my favorite parts about the apartment as we enjoyed having our breakfast out there, listen to the nearby church bells, and say good morning to our neighbor below. Brunate itself was a lovely town and we enjoyed the quiet away from the hustle and bustle of Como. We were able to get a monthly funicular card which made it very worthwhile as it’s €5 euros roundtrip otherwise. The apartment itself is super close to the funicular and we timed it at a 2 minute walk to get there. There are several nice restaurants and bars just a few minutes from the apartment and the locals seem to take over when the tourists go home in the evening. The town has a lot to explore and we did several hikes in the area. There are also a few paths to Como if you fancy a walk down the hill.
