Travel Purpose: leisure

Positive: The villa was spacious and near the metro. Area was safe and has a small grocery at the foot of the hill.

Negative: There is lots of maintenance that needs to be done. Pool was leaking and dirty. The host sent someone to clean it soon after we alerted them to the problem but it will probably be a major repair. There were not enough chairs for our three generation family of 13. The kitchen is large with lots of empty cabinets. We bought glasses and plastic flatware so there would be enough for us. Only one towel was provided for the kitchen. We bought several towels and a chef's knife so we had them for the week. The conversation pit sofa is extremely uncomfortable. The children used that area for playing. We sat around the table to talk. We brought chairs in from the outdoor area so there would be enough for us to sit on. We are from the USA so some expectations might be different. We are used to having paper towels, napkins, shower gel and a few other things provided. The drive into the property was a little nerve wracking for our German son-in-law. After you open the locked exterior gate you encounter a long drive with concrete walls on both sides. The warning alarms for being too close to things on the side went off several times the few times he drove in or out. The car was only used for a shopping trip to a big grocery store. After that, we all used the excellent metro system.
