The villa is in the charming seaside town of Torre Vado, close to beautiful, wide sandy beaches. The town has several good restaurants which serve the freshest seafood and local wines. It is just 15 minutes from Santa Maria di Leuca, at the southern tip of the Salento peninsula. In addition to being the home of Europe’s tallest lighthouse, the town is also the end of the Apulian aqueduct and the waters cascade down an elaborate waterfall. There is plenty to explore along the coast, beautiful beaches, caves and the stunning Il Ciolo inlet, near Gagliano del Capo, which is known for its crystal clear sea.
Gallipoli (35 minutes) is a very popular tourist destination during the summer months. In Greek, Gallipoli means “beautiful city” and the town does not disappoint. The town’s ancient walls soar over the harbour and fishing port. There is a daily fish market where if you go early you can pick up the freshest catch of the day.
