Positive: Alex was a responsive and considerate host. We appreciated the earlier than usual check in time and the snacks left at the apartment (as well as him asking us beforehand whether we had any dietary requirements). Free street parking near the apartment was easy enough to find on a weekday in low season.

Negative: We had difficulty finding the apartment due to Googlemaps taking us to an adjoining street and there being a few joining streets and a lot of houses and apartments in the area. Alex has now created a location information video, so this should help future guests. Other areas for improvement are: - Better internal lighting. There is little natural light and current lighting looks like in the photos - so dim that we had difficulty seeing. - More cooking utensils, especially knives other than cutlery knives (though lack of knives appears to be strangely common in Italian rentals). - The advertised washing machine needs to be provided to guests or removed from the listing. - If smoking is allowed, this should be clearly stated. We booked the apartment because it is listed as non-smoking, but there was a large ashtray on the table and a strong smell of deodoriser masking a faint smell of smoke, probably from previous guests. - The toilet seat needs to be fixed or replaced. Not within Alex's control and maybe only an issue for light sleepers like us, were the neighbours above waking up and moving around from 5.30am and other neighbourhood noise (like cars, dogs, garbage trucks, and construction work) starting early. Windows aren't double glazed, which doesn't help.
